Class – Sketching Winter with Shari Blaukopf
Shari makes the most beautiful watercolor paintings. She has this online course now available and it looks like a great value. I’m sure her tips about composition and painting will be helpful to any artist, beginner or not.
Video – Songs that Changed Music: Peter Gabriel’s Sledgehammer
Maybe you know the Harry Styles version of Sledgehammer better than the original. Regardless, you probably like the song. I was fascinated by this behind-the-scenes about it. To learn about the inspiration (60’s soul music), the synthesizer, the fretless bass, and all the other equipment used to make the song was eye-opening.
Podcast – The Show of Delights (This American Life)
This show uses Ross Gay and his Book of Delights as a jumping off point. I originally heard about the book on another podcast, and I remain fascinated by it though I have not read it yet. Listen to the This American Life if you need to smile and be told that relishing in joy daily is a great practice to choose.
