Weekly Roundup / Jan 8, 2021

The weekly roundup is my offering of inspiring things I found online in the past week. May they bring you some pearl of wisdom, joy, or humor.

Article – How to Finish a Project Once You’ve Started It
This reminded me of a chart I saw once: the emotional cycle of change. In the “valley of despair” is where many people give up on a goal when instead they should keep going! I was also reminded of Ryder Carroll’s statement about goals, which I wrote about here. You don’t steer the ship towards the lighthouse. It is just a navigational aid to help you set a direction.

Video – Everything Questlove Does in a Day
My mind was BLOWN that Quest tries to discover 100 new songs every day!

Blog Post – A Bird Feeder For Humans
I have been feeling lonely lately. For the most part social isolation hasn’t been hard on me, but there are moments when it’s no fun. This blog post made me smile. There is a single house in my neighborhood with a bench on the sidewalk in front of it. I went there once last summer to sketch and, I guess naturally, many people going by said something to me. It might have been the most socialization with multiple strangers I had since the pandemic began. The best was a boy riding by on his bicycle who stopped and smiled at me and asked if I was making observations. He knew what was up.

Take care of yourself this weekend, friends. It was a tough week.

Wishing you the best,
Allegra
